Limited edition Zildjian 400th anniversary t-shirt, "Jazz" design. Size M.
The birth of jazz music.
Between the 1930s and 1950s, Avedis Zildjian closely followed talented drummers leading the jazz movement. Having also been a victim of discrimination during his childhood, an Armenian living in Turkey, Avedis vowed that there would be no place for discrimination within his company. He therefore worked closely with African American artists like Chick Webb and Papa Jo Jones, who helped Avedis develop the "Hi-Hat." During this period of innovation, the "Paper Thin Crash," "Ride," "Splash," "Hi-Hat," and "Sizzle" cymbals were all developed and named by Avedis. To celebrate this rich period in Zildjian's history, the Jazz logo evokes the spirit of collaboration and the continuous movement of this music.
400 years of cymbals.
To celebrate its 400 years, Zildjian is launching a clothing and drumsticks collection, available only in 2023, which pays tribute to five major milestones in the company's history. From the discovery of the alloy to the key moments that have brought the brand to where it is today.
